Dad's Painting
My father--who died in 1993--was a teacher, artist, and photographer. During his final years he was a computer addict. He was excited about the possibilities he saw for the computer--especially relating to art. He was thrilled with his Mac and MacPaint. He saw architecture being done on computers, and so much more. Unfortunately, he died before seeing this become reality. This painting of his was given to my grandparents many years ago. One day while my wife and I were helping them move, they asked if we'd like to have this painting. We said yes. We have had it hanging ever since. But now we have it hanging in our bedroom by our computer. How appropriate! As we continue to design our website, while making use of a digital camera and scanner, I see his dream coming to fruition. Teaching, art, and photography all being done on a computer! Thank-you, Dad, for your visionary foresight. Thank-you for passing these traits and passions on to your children (as well as your many students). And thank-you to my grandparents for valuing this painting and passing it on to us. This is a heirloom from our past that is helping define our future. This is a part of our heritage!
